Belkin Wireless G Router F5D7230-4

Unpack and connect the router (modem port) to the wall jack, and PC to Port 1

Run the Setup CD 'Run Setup Assistant Now'

Select 'United States of America"

Check 'I have completed all quick steps'

Name the wireless access point something unique

Allow the router to restart

Finish

Wait!  You're not done yet,

Open your browser and go to http://192.168.2.1 Click on System Settings at the bottom

Leave Current password blank, and create a new password that you will remember.  It will prompt you for this if you ever log in to the router again.

Click Apply Changes

Click on Wireless / Security

Select WPA/WPA2-Personal PSK

Type in your security password in Password(PSK)

Click Apply Changes

After this, try connecting online, if it doesn't work unplug the router, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.  Possibly even try restarting the computer.

Safe Connect Notes

With Harding's Network you need to disable DHCP on the router, and connect it in a non-traditional way. MAC address clone is not relevant.

Connect Directly to the Router

Open your Browser

http://192.168.2.1

username: admin   password:<password> unless you changed it

Under the current screen (LAN Setup)

look for LAN Settings

Click DHCP Server - OFF

Save Settings

Connect the wall jack to the router LAN port instead WAN (internet port).  If you leave the wall port in WAN you will get a limited connectivity error.

You are now able to get online, you may have to reset the router for this to take effect.

NOTE:

You are no longer routed directly through the router, so if you go to 192.168.2.1 it will not connect.  To get to the router when DHCP is disabled you simply set your IP settings to manual:

Right click on Local Area Connection > Properties > TCP/IP

IP Address: 192.168.2.2

Subnet:       255.255.255.0

Gateway:    192.168.2.1

leave DNS blank

When you are done configuring the router be sure to remember to set your IP Address DHCP back to automatic so you can get back on the internet.
